I N T R O D U C T I O N
Cue files are hard to find these days. More and more download sites and P2P prog
rams offer full CD's in one big MP3 file, but finding the correct tracknames
and lengths takes a lot of time.
This program allows you to find the CD on FreeDB.org and convert it straight int
o a Cue Sheet that can be used by musiCutter, CDRWIN or mp3cue.
If FreeDB doesn't have trackdata for the CD, you can also try the MP3 scanni
ng feature: automatically search through a large MP3 file to find split-points a
nd recreate a new Cue-sheet, or extract the Cue-sheet embedded in an ID3v2-
tag.
You can save the tracklist to a Cue-file or a XMCD-file. You can use musiCutter
(see Links) to split the mp3 file into multiple parts using the Cue-file, or CDR
WIN to burn a CD with correct track-markers. This program can also export t
he tracklist to a XML, HTML, CSV or a Text-file. And it can write the Cue-s
heet to an mp3file's ID3v2-tag (like mp3cue does).
But it has more: you can use it as a full-featured Cue-sheet editor. You can cre
ate a new Cue-sheet from scratch by adding tracks, cut/copy/paste/delete/move tr
acks and edit the titles.
Have you ever had this: you've downloaded all tracks from an album separatel
y, and you want to glue them together with some join-tool, but you also want a m
atching CUE-sheet. This program can do it: it reads all MP3-files in a folder yo
u specify, and creates a CUE-sheet with correct tracklengths. It even calculates
the FreeDB DiscID, so you can get the tracklist from FreeDB. I've only hear
d about one other program that can do something similar, but that's a Linu&#
120; command-line utility.....
Best of all, it's free! It has been successfully tested with Windows 98
and XP, so it should work on ME and 2000 too. However, you'll ge
t the best results on Windows XP.

ates tracktimes according to multiple headers in the Mp3 file and creates a comp
lete Cue-sheet.
- Automatically detects Zip-, Rar-, Ace-, Lzh-, Cab-, Tar- and Wrapster-archives
and notifies you.
- Notifies you if file is a WMA-file instead of Mp3.
- Configurable thread priority.
Sure, you can do the same with a Hex-editor, but this is way faster.
T I P S
- Make a CueMaster-shortcut on your desktop and drag&drop a Cue- or XMCD-file on
it to load it.
- It the CueMaster main-window is visible, you can drag&drop a Cue- or XMCD-file
on it to load it.
- If the CueMaster MP3-scan window is visible, you can drag&drop an MP3-file on
it to load it.
- If the CueMaster Folder-scan window is visible, you can drag&drop a folder on
it to load it.
K N O W N P R O B L E M S
- It doesn't always check for correct user-input values, buffer-overflows ar
e rare, but possible.
- I have no idea if this program runs on Win95. I've tested it with Win&
#57;8SE and WinXP (all compatibility modes). And it runs without any problems. P
lease let me know if CueMaster works on your system.
E X P E C T E D I N F U T U R E V E R S I O N S
- Manual splitpoint selection tool (something similar like the track-split funct
ion in WinOnCD burn-software) with a waveform-view, so you load a mp3-file and c
lick where you want the next track to begin.
- Full ID3v2-tag support (MP3 Scanner currently only uses ID3v1-tags as spli
tpoints).
- MAYBE: Tracklist editing for multiple tracks at once (for now, only Pasting mu
ltiple tracks will work).
